What customers say?

“ One of my favourite cafes for sure. Discovered this while looking for niche perfume stores in scotland and was pleasantly surprised by the range they carry. They have so many amazing brands and a lot of them were already on my radar anyway so it was great being able to sniff them in person. Also a huge hojicha fan and the first time I came here a few months ago I ordered their hojicha latte and it wasn’t quite up to what I like but maybe it’s cause I prefer my hojicha latte to have a darker roast. Recently though I tried their hazelnut foam hojicha and it was genuinely amazing. The hazelnut and oatmilk really brings out the nuttiness in hojicha I would def order this again when I come back. ”

“ Highly recommend to anyone looking for great matcha in Glasgow - very new and inventive flavours! The pandan & coconut matcha and the apple pie matcha were highlights and their macarons are some of the best I’ve ever had. The black sesame & caramel macarons and the hong kong macarons were my personal favourites. The staff are also very lovely and the mugs/cups on sale in the shop are very unique if you’re looking for fun gifts! ”

“ Best hojicha I've tasted in my life At first I was kinda sceptical about apple puree + hojicha but boy I was sooooo wrong I also tried matcha basque cheesecake and it was soooo heavenly. It's light but still mouthwatering. Amazing! Staff lady was also so nice too, she was giving detailed recommendations. Great taste. I hope your business flourishes. ”

“ Tiramisu basque is super yum. Not too sweet and has a balance between the cheesy flavor and tiramisu. The pandan matcha has a strong pandan initial taste, followed by an authentic matcha aftertaste. ”

“ Look, I’m gonna give this place five stars even if I haven’t been here physically, but I have browsed the website intensively for weeks on end (my basket full and ever changing) and what I can notice is such a care and dedication to what they sell, and to the vibe that they want people to have. Everything looks so curated and I can bet you that they are true lovers of fine design and perfumes - you cannot stock the brands of perfumes they stock and not care about this art. I can only imagine how wonderful it is to actually step in there and smell all the wonderful perfumes and look at all the beautiful things and also have a coffee that I’ve read in other reviews that is really good. Just… all of the things I love. I’m gonna be super honest and say that even though I live in London, I’m currently planning a trip to Glasgow just to visit this shop. No pressure guys and see you soon. ”

“ I am genuinely in love with Godshot. After my first visit, it quickly entered my coffee shop rotation (along with Amulet, Zennor, and Kahawa Mzuri) and I have been back a number of times. The place is immaculate and serves a ever-rotating selection of speciality coffee and drinks. I am constantly impressed by the wide range of espressos from various roasters, it feels quite cliche to say, but there really is a flavour profile that would suit everyone. The staff are absolutely fantastic and are, of course, polite and friendly, but really show they understand great service in how helpful they are, and actually do try and connect with customers on a human level rather than being nice for the sake of it. They are efficent when the place is busy, but still make time for each customer, and allow themselves to connect more when its a bit quieter, which really shows they are comfertable in what they do. Godshot is much more than just coffee however, as they also offer homeware, beauty and fragerence products, and macrons. It totally fits the space and the ethos of the shop, and is just refreshing from the point of view of giving you something to browse while you wait for your coffee rather than staring aimlessly at your phone, even if it means you need to use all of your will power to stop you from buying the Malin + Goetz cannabis parfume that you constantly convince yourself that you need. This review is already far too long and I have just scratched the surface of why Godshot is one of my favorite spots in the southside. If you havent been, go. Take the plunge. You will find a new favorite spot if you do. ”

“ Best matcha we’ve had in Scotland! Huge range of drinks, and we were really impressed with the diverse flavours on offer. Also, highly recommend the basque cheesecake!! The owner is so sweet, friendly and welcoming. There are two tables inside the cafe/studio and also some outside on decking under a covered roof. We came all the way from Edinburgh and are already planning our next trip back! Loved ”

“ The coffee is great, this review is more going to be about the concept of the "coffee shop". Because is it really a coffee shop at this point? I love niche perfume but if I go to a coffee place, I don't expect to be smelling intense perfume during it. I want to be able to smell my coffee and what I've ordered. The place is way too small for all the directions they're taking it into. It is not really a pleasant experience for anybody - not for the shopper who have to squeeze around staff serving food customers, or for food customers having to squeeze themselves to get out of the way of shop customers. ”
